Fresh for summertime 2020

Spanning July to September, we will be introducing several new & exciting additions to the Blue Plate’s offerings, spanning not only the food & drink, but also new services that you may find useful.

Bistro-style menu

We have now launched our new bistro-style menu for your enjoyment, alongside our brand new brunch offering. Our opening times are below, but please feel free to call ahead to find out our latest specials.

Starting 9 July, we will be launching our new bakery, serving artisan bread, pastries, sweet treats and much much more.

Sam’s Emporium of Antiquities and Giftware

Adjacent to the restaurant, we also offer a range of quirky, stylish and one-off pieces via Sam’s brand new emporium of antiquities and giftware.

New wine list

Thirsty? Why not sample some world class wines from our newly-revised wine list. We’ll be serving food and drink all day for weekends and sunny days all throughout summer.

Essential supplies and takeaways

Convenience is the order of the day, so to move with the times and make our clientele and neighbours as comfortable as possible, we will also be fulfilling preorders for home bakery, groceries and offering wines to go. If you would like to order bread, milk or any other essentials, give us a call. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs and can provide one-off or regular orders, dependent on your needs.

We hope to see you soon. Thanks for your continued support.

The area

Downderry is near to Looe, Polperro and the Rame Peninsula; just over the water from Plymouth. It offers amazing coastal scenery and beautiful, sandy beaches as far as the eye can see.

The ambience

Our boutique, stylish restaurant awaits you to enjoy a warm, friendly and relaxed service. Sip cocktails, enjoy our freshly baked sourdough, continental olives and house hummus, whilst watching the world go by in the deli or on the sun terrace.

The Continental style Café Delicatessen offers a relaxed atmosphere with jazz playing in the background.

Shop for gifts Cornish homeware and view local artists in the craft boutique at the rear of the restaurant.
